Now may be the last time you can bring your son or daughter in before the new school year ramps up and the holiday season arrives, so don\u2019t miss it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to Expect from a Back-to-School Checkup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During your child\u2019s back-to-school checkup, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.randolphdental.com\/meet-your-dentists.html\">Dr. Goldstein<\/a> will thoroughly examine your child\u2019s smile for signs of common oral health conditions. As part of that exam, our <strong>Randolph<\/strong> office will use a variety of advanced technologies and techniques the make the process easier and more precise.<\/p>\n<p>One of the tools we\u2019ll use is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.randolphdental.com\/diagnodent.html\">DIAGNOdent<\/a>. As we first explained in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.randolphdental.com\/blog\/2012\/04\/detecting-and-treating-decay-early-with-diagnodent\/\">our post<\/a> from April 30, <strong>DIAGNOdent<\/strong> is used to spot signs of decay early, before they have a chance to worsen. To do this, it uses a laser light to compare what we find with a healthy baseline, making it possible to spot decay before we can even diagnose it with just a visual exam.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, everyone\u2014dentists included\u2014wish there was a way to get rid of decay completely, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.randolphdental.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/image-a-life-without-tooth-decay\/\">that\u2019s a long way off<\/a>.
