Myth 1: Tooth Extractions Are Painful<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The most common myth out there is that tooth extractions are painful. The good news is that with modern dental techniques and technology, having a tooth pulled isn\u2019t as uncomfortable as it was back in the day. Before your procedure begins, your dentist will numb the area with a local anesthetic, so you shouldn\u2019t be able to feel the area that you are working on. Other sedation options, like nitrous oxide and IV sedation, are available to make your experience even more comfortable if you choose them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myth 2: Tooth Extraction Recovery Is a Long Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It usually only takes about one or two weeks for the socket to heal after a tooth has been extracted. However, many patients only experience soreness and discomfort for a few days after their procedure. This can be managed with over-the-counter and prescribed pain relievers. When you carefully follow your dentist\u2019s aftercare instructions, you should be back to your normal schedule quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
